Disney Springs

Updated: Jul 3, 2018

Formerly known as Downtown Disney, Disney Springs is one of the places we love to visit when we are in Orlando at my parent's house. I wanted to make a blog post about some of the things we like to do there. There are also certain activities I wanted to highlight, some we have never done, but may be worth splurging on. There are also cheaper more budget friendly ideas included that are just as fun!

Shopping

Disney Style

This store has the lanterns from Tangled all over the ceiling, and lots of Disney goodies that would make perfect gifts of souvenirs. They had a great selection of Minnie and Mickey ears and lots of cute clothing pieces.

UNI QLO

There are so many great stores in Disney Springs where you can stock up on all your favorite Disney supplies. Of course most of them come with a higher price, but there is one store I have found that has some neat Disney merchandise for less.

Here's what the outside of the store looks like.

These are a few of the shirts they had, this would be a great place to buy family shirts :) I was only able to snap a few pictures before another customer in the store asked me if I was planning on taking the pictures and making my own. I laughed and told him it was for my blog, but that actually is a great idea to make your own matching Disney shirts!

Activities

Aerophile Balloon Ride

Aerophile Balloon Ride is something you often seeing rising and falling during your trip around Disney Springs. We have never taken the time to actually do this ride, but it is something Esther asks about doing each time. Who knows maybe one of these visits we'll surprise her and take a ride!

Ages 3-9: $15

Adults: $20

The LEGO Store

The LEGO Store at Disney Springs has an entire area in the front of the store with little LEGO stations where kids can build whatever they want. This is totally free and kids can also design and create their own LEGO car and race it. There are also some amazing LEGO sculptures all around the building you can take pictures with.

The Boathouse (Great Food / Neat activity to do or watch)

Amphicar Tour

Cost: $125 (20 minute tour) 3-4 people / Cost to watch from dock: $ free (or cost of meal :)

This is one of those activities that you can just watch and be amazed. You can also eat on the dock behind the restaurant and watch the "amphicars" come and go. Or you can save up and splurge on this special adventure. The food at the restaurant is really good. Here is a link to the menu. (I suggest the filet sliders and fries)

Food

Rainforest Cafe

One of the restaurants we like to go to, more for the experience, is The Rainforest Cafe.

The volcano erupts fire either every hour or half hour, it's really awesome at night.

Ghirardelli

FREE CHOCOLATE (did that get your attention?)

Don't miss your chance to swing into Ghirardelli's for your free piece of chocolate!

(Cute weirdo in the background not included)

Sprinkles Cupcakes

You can go inside and chose your delicious dessert, or you can wait in line outside and use their pink vending machine.

Me too Esther, me too.

Candy Cauldron

Another sweet treat option is the Candy Cauldron. This store has a window in front of their bakery where you can watch the bakers make the sweet treats!

How cute are these Minnie & Mickey cake pops? They tasted as good as they look.

Overall, Disney Springs is a really fun place to visit. There are plenty of stores, a lot of different live music, and restaurants of all different flavors. But like anything with the name Disney on it, the crowds can get a little heavy. Maybe thats what Walt was referring to when he said, "It's a small world?" I hope you get the chance to go visit and have as much fun as we do at Disney Springs!
